Five years ago D.W.M.A was betrayed by a group of their strongest members and was forced into a large-scale battle. Border lining an all out war, this battle went on for many days and many nights. Many good people lost their lives protecting Shinigami-Sama and Death City and, after an exhausting, destructive ordeal, the traitors were defeated. Only one man, seeming to be the leader of this “revolt” still remains hidden from the ever watchful eyes of Shinigami. Ever since that day Shibusen has been rebuilding itself to its former glory; however, they have undertaken a new name for the prestigious school. Soul Reaver Academy, or the SRA.

Now, its a new year at Shibusen and time for Soul Reaver Academy to get underway in prepping the new students for the world. The school's front gates are open for all of the new students. This year's bunch will be paid special attention to because of the news that Death City has obtained. It appears that there is an unusually large amount of activity among the Witches, and an unexpected rise in corrupted souls. Many of Death City's elite have gone to investigate these matters, but none have come back with any fruitful information. Reports are flying in about new Demon Tools being discovered, but whenever someone goes to claim them, they disappear. No one is sure whether this has to do with the Witches, or if some other mysterious third party is responsible. With the world ever-so-slowly sinking into disorder, the academy has a pressing task before it: Producing a new generation of Death Scythes. Success or failure of this mission could make-or-break the world as we know it.
