Personallity: Vash suffers from APD - Alternate Personality Disorder. He refers to his alternate personality as Millions Knives, Knives for short. Vash is a pacifist, and he refuses to take anybody's life. Despite this, unfortunately, destruction and mayhem almost always follow him, giving him an enormous reputation and the name "Vash The Stampede". Vash usually exaggerates foolish characteristics to make people feel unthreatened and to hide his identity. He exhibits an almost obsessive love of cigarettes and engages in lecherous behavior occasionally. However, when those around him are threatened, Vash shows complete focus and control, and usually a person will survive when around him. In contrast to Vash's playful and boisterous nature, Knives is quiet and observant. While Vash can be emotional and intense, Knives is contained and casual. Vash seeks companionship as comfort, whereas Knives revels in his loneliness. Knives is quite cold and cruel as well, and he has no problem killing someone, unlike Vash. Knives has a deep hatred for Humans, wishing to rid the world of them and create a new one filled with only Witches. Unlike most people who have APD, the "Knives" personality is not triggered by anything specific, and just comes and goes randomly and without warning.

Magic Type: Plant Magic - Allows the user to control plantlife. It also makes the user somewhat of a plant himself, as he is able to reform his body and recreate body parts, such as turning an arm into some sort of weapon. Despite having this powerful magic, Vash refuses to utilize it (although Knives has absolutely no problem doing so), and chooses to wield two custom made .45 caliber silver and nickel plated revolvers, a classic six-shot double-action with a top break reloading mechanism that fires .45 Long Colt ammunition. The engravings on the side of the guns describes it is a ".45 Long Colt AGL Arms Factory" with wings around the "AGL" as in angel. Vash's revolvers have the barrels aligned with the 6 o'clock chamber, not the 12 o'clock chamber as is the typical configuration of standard revolvers. Only one actual weapon follows this form factor, which is the Mateba Autorevolver (sorry if you don't understand any of this, I'm a bit of a gun junkie =P). Because he chooses to wield the revolvers over his magic, other witches call him "Vash The Gunslinger Witch".
